My 'exciting' teaching practicum starts 25/7/2011. But I have to be in KL before 14/7/2011 because I have to attend this seminar related to my teaching practicum.

I don't hate or like teaching practicum, I just want it to be over. lol

It's hard to teach when you are actually being judged from the back of the class.

To make it worse, it's graded and the outcome dictates your life.

But, I think I just have to suck it up, stop whining and try my best.

Come to think of it, I spent 5 semesters preparing for this teaching practicum.

I'm not going to blow it up just because I'm nervous or insecure about my competency in the English language.

My seniors have done it, and they are okay. They still graduated.

That's all I want. To be able to graduate from UM with good CGPA.

I'm never going to get the best CGPA, good is more than enough. I can settle for good because lets face it, my mother tongue is Malay language. My parents barely know English. My siblings on the other hand are competent in English language. We don't talk in English because we are just accustomed to use Malay language. Most importantly, I'm not perfect. I can always try to be but in the end, I'm just me. There are some things that I'm good at and there are some things that I'm not.

For now, I just want to focus on being worried about my teaching practicum. =)

Richard Gale: A Bully or Just Another Victim like Casey Haynes?

In the previous post, I talked about Casey Haynes. This post is about the bully who got slammed to the floor, Richard Gale.

The whole world see him as this bully who got what he deserved. I agree.

But everybody deserves a second chance.

Richard Gale is just a kid. He needs our guidance, love and care.

Everybody makes mistakes. So does he.

In the interview, he said he is a victim himself. He said Casey started to taunt him first. That's why he threw the first punch. The rest of the story, all of you already know it.

Regardless of what both boys have said to the media, we should not quick to judge and blame.

Instead, we should take this as an example, to not let bullies have the power at schools or anywhere.

I don't want this Richard kid to commit suicide because of all the hatred and negative comments he received since the video of him punching Casey went viral. I don't want that.

I wish the school especially the teachers will pay better attention to him and start nurture him. He is still very young. We can still guide him to become a better person. But he cannot be a better person if everyone around him keep telling him how bad he is.

Lets just open a new chapter in our lives and give moral support to both kids.

Casey Haynes - Respect!

I'm a future teacher. Usually, I oppose the idea of violence. But after seeing what Casey Haynes has been facing since his second grade, I'm willing to give an exception.

Casey Haynes, a boy from Australia who is now a hero for millions of people all over the world. He was unknown before this. He has no friend at all. His only friends ditched him after a student bullied him. He was left all alone, trying to be normal like any other regular kid. Unfortunately, he was always bullied. Students at the school knew about this but nobody said a word. NOBODY stand up for him. His father did not know the fact that his boy was a victim of bullying. The only one he can take comfort in is with his elder sister who always push him up and advice him to be stronger and never give up.

One day, a group of students were bullying him. One of them punched him several times. They even recorded the whole thing. He snapped. He just could not take it any longer. He decided to stop all of the bullying. He grabbed the bully and slammed him right on the floor. He then paused and walked away to avoid any other problem.

He went home and the first person he told was his sister. One thing he did not know, his video slamming the bully on the floor had became viral. Many applauded him for what he did. Many agreed that the bully got what he deserved. I could not agree more.

Casey Haynes, not many people have the courage like you. You stand up for yourself. Your action is nothing more than to defend yourself after those painful years of being bullied.

I cannot help but wonder where were the teachers of that school when this happened? Were they too busy at the cafeteria? Were they too busy gossiping? I mean, for all of them to not know that this poor boy had been bullied since his second grade is unacceptable. Our job is not just to educate. Our job is to care for them, nurture them. If you cannot do that, you might as well resign from becoming a teacher. I know it's not easy to monitor all students. But it's not impossible to try, right? Patrol the school area, especially during recess time. Not just the discipline teacher, but other teachers must do it too.

Please stop being selfish and try to make your students' lives better even when yours are not. Educate your students to not be afraid of bullies. Bullies are people who think they are special and want to assert their make-believe dominance over someone who's either too scared or too nice to fight back. Don't be distant with your students. Be their friends. That way, you will know everything. They will behave better too. Trust me. I was a student myself.

Children's Right to Life!

According to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), each year nearly 10 million children die from preventable causes before their fifth birthday. We are living in 2011 where we are supposed to be civilised. Unfortunately, we are no different than the Pagans who buried their daughters once they were born many centuries ago. We still take children’s lives for granted. Children are meant to be protected. What can we do to promote children’s rights especially their right to life?

Firstly, as the core of the family, parents should be educated about children’s rights. Before planning to have children, they must know what children’s rights are. They are responsible to guide their children regarding their rights. They should be more open about this issue and do not hesitate to reach out for help if they do not really know about it. For example, parents can log on to the Unicef Malaysia website or call their number to get help. Concisely, parents play the most crucial role in promoting children’s right to life.

Next, the school especially the teachers should exposed students about their rights since their early years of childhood. Since we do not have formal subject that focuses only on children’s rights, we should integrate it in every lesson so that students are aware of it. For instance, "The Convention on the Rights of the Child" should be available in school libraries and read and discussed in classrooms with the teachers. Therefore, it is important that the school also plays its part in promoting children’s rights.

Last but not least, the government especially the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and also Non-profit Organisation (NPO) should conduct more awareness and educational campaign for the public with the aim of promoting children’s rights. The ministry must also ensure that the NPOs are financially supported in extending their activities. For example, the ministry can promote and diversify their methods of campaigning so that their messages will be received by all, either in urban or rural areas. Consequently, the government plays the utmost role in making sure that children’s right to life are promoted.

All in all, everyone should play their roles in promoting children’s right to life. We used to be children ourselves and we know how was it like to be denied of our rights. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said that “Children are no longer regarded as the property of parents or the passive recipients of charity or goodwill, but as rights-holders”. Therefore, let us start appreciating children’s lives rather than watching them fade away!

Assisted Suicide: Should Terminally Ill People Have The Right to Control Their Own Death.

Hi peeps! Today I'm going to talk about a very sensitive issue. Please bear in mind that I write this based on my humanistic point of view.

A poll for The Times on July 25, 2009 has found that 95 per cent of adults supported the right for people with a terminal illness to be helped to die. In Malaysia, there is no case of assisted suicide ever recorded. However, I am sure that it is happening but off the record. Now, should terminally ill people play god and decide their own time to meet their maker? Personally, I agree with this.

First and foremost, terminally ill patients are people. They have rights to decide whatever they want to do to their bodies. The analogy is quite simple. Mr. X often eats burgers from McDonalds. He knows and well aware that it will eventually lead to obesity and many more health complications. Why no one tries to stop him? This is because people know and acknowledge that it is his right and his choice to eat whatever he wants, be it healthy or not. It goes the same with terminally ill patients. They know what they want. They have thought about it deeply. They are aware of their conditions. They even discuss it with their family and being assisted by professional doctors. Why not we let them choose their own ending?

Secondly, assisted suicide gives terminally ill patients option to stop their endless physical and mental suffering. It also will stop the family’s mental suffering. Diseases like Hodgkin Lymphoma, AIDS or advanced heart disease only give the patients a few months to live. During that time, they are going to slowly die in a very painful and unimaginable way. Assisted suicide gives them the chance to stop all of that and die peacefully. They can say proper goodbyes to their family and friends. The family would be released from the emotional burden that they have been having since the patients are ill. Nothing is immoral about that.

Lastly, assisted suicide can free them from their financial burden. It is a known fact that terminally ill people have to spend an enormous amount of money in order to pay for their medical bills. It is a huge weight for people who are financially troubled. When terminally ill patients died, their family are burden with debts to the hospitals. With assisted suicide, they can use the money for greater good, especially if the terminally ill patients are the breadwinners of the family. The money can be used for their children’s education and their future well-being.

Concisely, assisted suicide is the best option that terminally ill people could ever get. They do not want to play god. They wish they are god so that they can cure their illnesses. “Death is the most beautiful adventure in life”, quoted from Charles Krohman. They have had a great life and wish to embark on another journey afterlife. I wish them nothing but all the best and see you at the other side!

Why I Shouldn't Get Married Because of Love?

Fairytales are very fascinating. In fairytales, the princesses get married with the princes and they live happily ever after. Cinderella, Snow White, The Sleeping Beauty. All of them got their Princes Charming in the end. However, the reality is not that wonderful. There are a lot of couples divorced nowadays. When asked why they get married in the first place, they say that they thought they loved each other and wanted to grow old together. Frankly speaking, I am all for romance but I am also realistic. Romantic love alone is not a very strong reason for someone to get married. It is undeniably a poor basis for marriage.

The first reason is romantic love alone does not help my financial needs. All couples should consider their financial status before getting married. I should make sure that both of us are stable financially. Financial planning is very crucial and should be prioritized. This is important because I am going to build a life together and have children of my own. It is a fact that there are couples who divorced just because they are financially unstable. They thought that love is enough for them and everything will work out just fine. Well, they thought wrong. The problem becomes a big burden to them. They fight and quarrel a lot because of money and in the end, none of them can take it any longer and decides to go separate ways.

Secondly, I need to know my partners' background before getting married. This is specifically applies to couples who have just met for a very short period of time and decide to get married. Marriage is a very serious business. Therefore, I need to know him well. I have to know his history, bond with his family and relatives and more importantly, know him for who he is, not who he pretends to be. In Selangor, there was a case where a Malaysian woman got married to a Nigerian man after getting to know each other for only 2 months. They both flew to Paris for their honeymoon and there, she was forced to deliver drugs for drug dealers. He was a con man who trapped women like her to become his slaves and do his dirty work. She is now in jail after police caught her in action. Now, you would not want this to happen to you, would you?

Last but not least, romantic love causes couples to expect too much. After couples got married, they realize that their partners did not fulfil their expectations and therefore they thought that their marriage is a failure. I have to keep in mind that nobody is perfect. He may seem to be perfect for me now but after marriage, his true colours will show. This is a stage where I must prepare myself to accept my partner for who he is, both good and bad.

In a nutshell, love alone is not a guarantee for a happy marriage. I am not suggesting that love is unimportant for a marriage. Love, along with other things mentioned above could be a key to happy marriage. A psychologist, Dr. J. Brothers once stated, “Romantic love is a fraud. It is a fraud because it is temporary. No one stays in love; not in the romantic sense where you feel electrified when you are near him, and limp and anxious when he’s away. The only absolute necessity is basic common sense.” Therefore, I think it is safe to say that love alone does not ensure a happy and lasting marriage.

L-O-V-E is a Cliche, Don't You Think So?

The most controversial topic ever (at least for me). I don't like to talk about this topic because it brings out the past, something that I would not want to remember.

Ok. So all of you know, I'm single now. In other words, I'm not dating anyone. This is not me trying to promote myself ok. hahaha. I'm just merely stating the fact.

As I grew up, my friends started to have boyfriends. It was difficult to accept at first. You used to be the only thing that your friends need, but now you are no longer it. As time went by, I started to understand that it is out of my control. If my friends are happy, that is more than enough for me.

I was in a relationship when I was in form 4. We started of on a rocky start. It was not supposed to happen at all. But it did happen. Things happened so fast and suddenly I was his girlfriend and he was my boyfriend. It was nothing serious. Puppy love they called it. I learnt that it was not easy to stay in the relationship. There were times we had arguments. We fought (verbally lah). It definitely affected my study at that time. I became careless with my study. I was irresponsible. I couldn't divide my time. I couldn't juggle my love life and my study life. As a result, I failed epicly in my SPM. I only got 6A's, 1B, 1C and 2D'. (The D's are Additional Mathematic and Chemistry. hahaha. I loathe these subjects).

Oh yeah, we had an off and on relationship. I should have realized that it is not a very good sign. It means that we are not suitable to be with each other. I guess I was too stupid and blinded to realize it.

I couldn't help myself but wondering what would happen if I never fell in love in the first place? Would I get a better result? Would I be different? I guess I'll never know.

But, to be fair, it was not all bad you know. I mean, the relationship taught me a lot. It taught me to be more independent, to never underestimate myself and to be stronger than ever. There are certain men that you can put your trust on, and there are men you shouldn't trust at all. It did make me a bit bitter. hahaha.

Now, I'm 23. Love at this stage is no longer puppy love. It's definitely a serious one. The one that will lead to a marriage. Frankly speaking, I don't see myself married to a guy. It would be impossible. Yes, I know that we all need love. But right now, I don't need that kind of love. I'm comfortable being with myself, family and close friends. Yes, they will get married at certain point in their lives, I realize that. When that happens, I'll be there to share their happiness. I wish them nothing but the best in their relationships.

However, I saw some of my friends got hurt in their relationship. I have dozens of examples. They have a chaotic life. Money is never enough. They started borrowing money from their family and friends but never pay it back. I mean, is this what love is supposed to be? Love alone is clearly not enough to have a happy marriage. So I started to think, if this is love, I don't wish to get married. I'm better off on my own. I could take care of my parents who had done everything for me since I was little. Isn't that better than to suffer in a marriage? People said I have a negative way of seeing things. But it is not that. I saw it with my own eyes. I'm surrounded with it. I mean, the facts are there. Am I still negative? Or it's just me who are willing to admit it? Other people just being quiet about it. They stuff all of the negative things inside up until the point it explodes. That is when they get a divorce.

Therefore, I guess it's best to not think about it. I mean, I'll get married when the time comes. But I hardly think that I'll ever get married. The right man, it's like searching a needle in a haystack! I dont' want to spend my life searching for the 'one'. Instead, I want to enjoy every bit of it, with my beloved family and close friends. Now, that is living.

I also love Kollywood films like the legendary Padayappa, Chandramukhi, Kanthaswamy, Sivaji, Enthiran and more. I seriously lost count. Here is my favourite Kollywood hero!

I bet all of you know him. Rajnikanth. The ever so talented and versatile actor!

So Raya break is over. But it does not mean that my Raya spirit is gone too. Raya is still Raya. I'm going to celebrate it for this whole month. =p LOL

I'm currently at my second home.

Although we had a break, but it was not actually a real break cause we have a lot of assignments. Being the last minute type of person that I am, I only did it a couple of days before I headed to KL.

It was crazy. I did not sleep at all.

As long as I got the things done, no problem, right? =p

Anyways, Panjang and Pendek(my kittens) are with their new owner now.

Mom gave them to her last night. After crying last night, I do feel better today. Haha.

For some of you, they may be just cats, but they meant a lot to me. I don't hope you to understand me cause I don't understand myself too. LOL

One thing that made me glad is that the new owner really loves cats. She is one of my relative.

At least I know that my kittens are in good hands. =) Syukur Alhamdulillah!

LAst but not least, Zoey had given birth to 4 beautiful kittens!

I really hope the new kittens can mend my broken heart. But there will be no replacement for Panjang and Pendek. They both will stay in my heart. Malin too. I miss her lots. =(

Dahlia Cookies

Hola!!!

So last night, Dilla made Dahlia Cookies.

I just help around with the cherries. =p

We wanted to make 2 different cookies but because of time, we had to delay the other one.

Well, the outcome is a bit... Different.

It tasted like what Dahlia cookies should taste like.

However, the cookies did not exactly grow bigger.

Instead, they melted down. So, the shape of the cookies was a bit unusual, not like the common Dahlia Cookies. LOL

Well, honestly, I don't care how it looks like as long as it still taste like Dahlia Cookies! Hahaha

Not enough sleep or too much sleep?

Last night, Dilla and I stayed up until the morning making Raya cookies.

We have made Cornflake Cookies and Coconut Cookies.

We faced problems with both of the cookies.

Thank god it was over.

Overall, we are quite happy with the outcome.

Hi boys and girls!

Hari Raya is very near.

I'm happy with the way everything is going on.

Raya Cookies, we are doing it one by one.

My Baju Raya, my mom is going to finish it tomorrow.

Thank god my mom is a tailor. Trust me, it's not easy to sew a baju kurung for people my size. =p

One thing I'm not too happy about. It is endless assignments and research.

By the end of my course, I am a well experienced researcher!

Well, how cannot I be? We have at least 2 researches to be done in a semester.

Now I am in my third year, first semester. Go figure.

I know, I know. I always whine about my assignments. I'm not perfect. I cannot help it. LOL

Anyways, this post is supposed to be about Hari Raya.

So lets just stick to it.

I know. I'm exaggerating. I'm not his biological mother but we are bonded with special relationship between me and his mom. =p

Wow... My best friend, Ejah, has a son now. Time is not waiting for anyone.

Rewind back, we were in form 6, still thinking and deciding what we were going to do with our lives.

Now, she has a husband and a lovely son.

Who would have thought, right?

Well, I lied. I always knew that they are going to married each other and have beautiful children. LOL They have been in a serious relationship for very long.
They made the right decision to get married. I'm so happy that they all are happy. =)

I'm still waiting for the baby's picture. Cannot wait to see Ejah and our son!

I guess, there is happy ending after all.

K.Ema, I hope u read this. I really do.

First of all, I'm terribly sorry that I did not attend your graduation.

I wanted to be there for you like you have always been there for me especially during my audition. I would never forget that.

However, I could not be there because my classes are packed.

We have classes continuously, from early morning to late in the evening.

I could not find the perfect time to go and meet you at college.

I was too exhausted after all the lectures.

I know, these are just a bunch of lame excuses.

But it is the truth.

I planned to surprise you before you went to KL Sentral on the day you were leaving.

I even told Ida about it that I wanted to come at 7a.m and met you.

However, after only 2 hours of sleep, I overslept.

I was preparing my research proposal.

I woke up at 9a.m and realized that you were already on your train to go home.

I apologize sincerely. I know I'm a bad friend. I just hope that you will forgive me.

I do not have the courage to sms you. I thought I would hurt you even more.

So, I decided to write this entry to explain myself and most importantly, to apologize. =(

I hope it's not too late for me to wish you "Congratulations!"

I wish you all the best in your life. I hope you will get married to a wonderful man and have great kids.

Another Fantastic Weekend in Memories!

This weekend, all teslians in my batch are busy doing rashid's research proposal except for me! lol

i was too busy traveling from one shopping complex to another. =p

Watching movies back to back. muahahahha

I do feel guilty of not even starting my assignment, but I'm just a normal human being. i have weaknesses for movies and food. hihihi. whatever laa kan.

The proposal is due this Monday. I might start doing it during tomorrow night. I'm insane. My friends have been doing it for the last 2 days and they still haven't finished. I'm delusional to think that I can finish it in time. =p

Well, I have to sacrifice my sleeping time tomorrow night laa if i cannot make it done before bed time. =)

Enough talking about assignment. It's making me dizzy and nauseous. hahaha

Well, last 2 days, dila and I went to Mid Valley and watched Despicable Me. U know what, it was damn hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing till the end of the movie. We watched the 3D version which made it more special.

After watching movie, dila, k.nor, k.die and I went to Flamingo! OMG. That place has tons of food! you can eat all u want and need to pay only rm22.80!! They have all kinds of seafood, deserts, beverages. It was worth our money! I'm going to go to that place again soon. Maybe during Ramadhan, to break fast with my besties.

Yesterday, dila and I went on a ladies shoes hunt at Amcorp Mall. I found a nice comfy pair of slippers! I love it. It does not hurt even a bit. Dila also bought a pair of slippers. After that, we went to eat at Kenny Rogers Roaster. Damn. The chicken was superb!

Later, our original plan was to go to Sungai Buluh, to watch fireflies.

However, kak nor had a fever so we couldn't go. It was very unfortunate. Then, dila and I came up with another plan.

We went to Cineleisure and watched The Last Airbender! hihi

That movie was mind blowing!

It's a must watch for movie buff like me! huhu

I really want to hang out with Dila again but unfortunately, my stupid research proposal is constraining me from doing what I want.

I have to finish it tomorrow night by hook or by crook!

Pray for me guys and girls.

Pray so that I wont be sleepy and full of ideas tomorrow night.

It's friggin' 3a.m and i still couldnt sleep! urghhh. i have class at 9.30am tomorrow and a crucial writing test at 2pm. i just hope that I wont be sleepy during the test!

What did I do today? Scientifically, it's actually yesterday. whatever laa.

I did Dr. Kazi's assignment! Hehehe. Not really, I just searched for information on the internet. Now I have a clear picture of what I'm supposed to do. Thanks for not giving us any guidelines on how to do the assignment, Dr. Kazi. You really want me to fish on my own. I get that. Well, I hope that I did not catch the wrong fish! =p

Then, I went out with Mel and Shahril aka Aril. A bit geli to call him that. Sounds gay-ish. Muahahhahaha. We ate, they shopped... Well, I didnt shop, I just window shopped. I saw this one cute blouse at Scarlet Plus but as usual, my size is unavailable for the moment. Shucks!(this is what dr tee's would say.haha)

I have a slide presentation and a complete report on the presentation to prepare and also a research proposal to finish.

All of these are due next week. However, I have to finish everything before this weekend because I'm going to be unavailable this whole weekend. I'm going to spend quality time with my sisters! lol

I seriously don't know how to make a research proposal. The only thing I understand about the word 'proposal' is when a guy asks his gf to marry him. That is my only understanding about the word. It's going to be one hell of a challenge to make it done.

p/s: I feel very irritated today and I know why. I just want it to be over!I'm pathetic. I also know that.

Trip to Shah Alam!!!

Hi everyone!

I'm at the library now, downloading stuff.

People go to the library to study or read books, but I go to the library because the internet connection is really good in here! lol

Tuesday is the day for me to surf the internet freely, with no limitation.

Yeah, I have a Celcom broadband. But its usage limit is just 5gb. Now is already 3.5gb. I have to save it for other important downloads. =p

Ida is with me now. I'm helping her to configure her bluetooth settings and she also wants to copy movies into her external hardisk.

Last weekend k.aini, dea, yaya n i went to shah alam!! It was fun and full of sweet memories! =)

We rented a Kancil car and K.aini drove the car.

Without her, this awesome trip would not be possible!

It only took half an hour to go to shah alam. It's so near to our place! If I knew earlier, I would have asked them to go there during our first year. wakakakaka.

Our first destination was Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam.

Then we went to Plaza Sentral.

I found heels that fit me perfectly!

It was a miracle! Ok, I'm exaggerating. But I was shocked laa.

I never knew that there is a place that sells high heels for plus size people.

Oh yeah, since I got the heels, I have to treat K.Aini McDonald for 3 months.hahaha.

Before we went to the shop, I told her that if I managed to find heels that fit me, I would treat her McD for 3 months. I was confident that the shop would not have heels for my size. I was wrong. People, the lesson here is NEVER make a bet that you will regret. lol

After that, we had dinner at this Thai Steamboat Restaurant. It was nice. My first steamboat ever.

Then, K.aini and I went to The Store to buy some stuff while Dea and Yaya went to Kompleks PKNS again because they still have things to buy.

Our last stop was I-City. I could barely walk. After a day walking here and there, store after store, I couldnt feel my feet anymore. lol

K.Aini, yaya, and Dea gave me moral supports to continue walking and taking pictures because I was complaining about the pain and I really had to go to the loo. hahaha. I'm so lucky to have them as my friends. Some people would be very annoyed with me because of my constant complaining and 'mengade-ngade'. muahahahaha.

If u notice in the pictures at I-City, my smile was totally fake! hahaha. I tried to mask my tiredness with the smile but failed miserably. =p

However, I fought with my laziness to walk and toured around I-City.

The view was just fantastic! Thousands of people were there and it was like 10.30pm!

I'm very very very happy that we went on this trip together.

Let's do this again! =)

I have a few interesting places in mind. =p

Hi peeps!

Have you ever wondered about your life, about how will it turn out?
I'm a thinker (I think I am.lol), so I always think about this.
It freaks me out every time I think about it.
It's not that I'm not sure about what I want to become.
I'm fairly certain about my ambition.

However, I can't help myself but thinking about other possibilities or in simple term, "what if I had done something else".

here are some of my "what if":

What if I stayed at SMKAKA(a religious school) and never went into MRSM?
Would I turn out to be a good muslim who never miss to pray 5 times a day? (yeah, i miss my prayers a lot and not proud of it)

What if I stayed at MRSM Taiping and never went to MRSM K.Terengganu?
Would my life and my choice of career be any different?

What if I accept the offer from UITM Kuala Pilah to pursue my studies in Science?
Would I be brave enough to drop the course and take other course that I prefer instead?

What if I did not continue my studies in form 6?
Would I be studying at a private college, pursuing diploma?

The most important question is:

what if I control my eating habit since I was young?
Would I be skinnier and not like what I am today?

They are all what ifs. They were just possibilities.

Reality on the other hand is different.

What I am now is the reality.

I would be lying if I say that I did not regret a few of my choices and decisions.

But I guess one thing I learn from all of this is that you have to make bad choice first before making good one. Bad choice teaches you to experience things on your own, whether it's good or bad.

It gives you lessons about life, about not giving up when you fall down hard.

It teaches you to stand on your own feet, stronger than before.

It leads you to make better decisions in the future and to be more wise in your actions.

Making bad decisions is not that bad after all.

It depends on how you see it. On my perspective, I believe things happen for a reason.

I believe that Allah wanted me to make bad choices first so that I can learn from my mistakes and never repeat it.

I'm not saying that I'm a better person than you.

All I'm trying to say is I'm a different person now.

Add & Drop Week + Red Babe

What a tiring week!

With all the hustle with new subjects, registration of the subjects, class schedules, my red babe, and new house that I rent with k.aini, dea, aina, and yaya (but has not complete yet,i'm wondering when the fridge will be sent), I managed to squeeze in a little time to blog about things that happened in my life recently.

In my opinion, the most challenging subjects this semester are Shakespeare on screen and language testing and assessment. Shakespeare on screen because of the language used while language testing and assessment because of the high expectation of the lecturer.

I got my first assignment on the second day of the first semester and had to submit it one day after that. Can u imagine? It's crazy!

Some other students are still at their homes, holiday-ing.

There is no rest for TESL students. None.

However, this week was not all bad. I found that majority of our lecturers are very interesting this semester. Not interesting in a bad way, but in a good way. I have more male lecturers which is good because we need a change of environment where we were taught by mostly female lecturers in previous semesters.

I'm not saying that female lecturers are not good. They are great.

However, a few of them were very emotional. Unprofessional is the other term.

Everybody knows what happen last semester.

We just hope it won't happen again.

So this is me, reminding myself not to be controlled by my emotions and never lash out in front of my students. They are innocent.

Oh yeah, since we are living on our own now, we did the household chores. We were used to cleaners picking up our garbage but now we have to do it ourselves.

K.aini is the leader in the house. She's also a magnificent cook! =)

Usually, dea aka angah will help her around when she's cooking.

I would love to help but unfortunately our kitchen is very small. Not enough space for the three of us. =p

So I let the elders do what they have to do. lol

The house is great except for a few plumbing problems, no fridge for now and we need one more table so that each of us can have our own table to study and place our books.

I'm the only one with internet connection at the house for the time being (I'm using celcom broadband - it sucks sometimes). So if u hv to reach me, k.aini, dea, aina or yaya, please feel free to leave a message in my facebook inbox. That is if u hv tried to reach them via message or call but failed.

I also got my new red baby. ~wink2.

I'm always worried if it is stolen. Thanks to faiz sengal for filling my head with that scary thoughts! But I have to admit that no matter how much i love the thing, if it's meant to be stolen by thieves, nothing can stop if from happening. Simpang malaikat 44! I think i'll just hv to pray to Allah for it to be with me forever!

Yeah, everything looks good for now.

Pumped Up!

New semester. New Everything!

I'm so pumped up about this new semester. I have new dreams and new goals.

I feel like nothing can bring me down right now!

Well, I think this is normal.

Everybody is excited as I am to start new semester.

However, during the middle of the semester, the spirits and the excitements will decrease rapidly.

This adrenaline rush that I'm having is just temporary.

I hope it is not. I wish it is permanent. My goal to put myself in the Dean's list has not yet happening.

I was so close last semester. The only difference between me and the minimum gpa to get into the dean's list was just 0.05!

Disappointed? Yes. Am I giving up? Hell no! =)

Therefore, I'm advising myself now.

Nurul, you have to stop fooling around.

This is your third year.

You only have 4 semesters left to prove yourself.

You have to try your hardest in everything and excel in your studies.

Other people can get what they want easily.

You are not one of them.

You must do well because only you can help yourself.

It's better to achieve something after you have put your effort in it.

It's more meaningful and worthwhile.

Work hard but smart in doing your assignments and pay 150% attention during lecture.

Grow up and stop being immature!

You know you have the capability of doing something great.

Make use of it and don't waste your time because life is short.

Stay strong and be positive!

Let all the negative comments motivate you to be more successful in the future!

Nurulaini binti Taib, you can do it! Live your life to the fullest!

Movie review : Eclipse 2010

I have just finished watching Eclipse!

It was not bad but it was not very good either.

My problem is with Robert Pattinson. He's a hunk, I admit it.

But his acting skills, not very good.

I don't feel the connection between him and Kristen Stewart aka Bella.

Throughout the whole movie, I felt like he was just reading his script.

Meanwhile,Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner did a very good job.

They both are amazing actor and actress.

I give the movie 7 out of 10. I really hope Robert Pattinson will step up in the next installment of The Twilight Saga; Breaking Dawn.

Having said that, Eclipse is definitely worthy to watch! =)

p/s: there are a lot of kissing scenes in the movie (I don't think it's necessary. Oh wait, I forgot. Sex sells)

p/s/s or p/p/s (I'm not sure which one): It's going to be very uncomfortable especially if you are watching it with your mom and dad or with your male friends(too much snogging).

I'm extremely lazy. I admit it. You can ask my family or my friends. They'll say the same thing too. I don't mind because it's the truth and it's who I am. My principal in life is very simple. Don't mess with me and I'll not mess with you. Don't interrupt my life and back the hell off! I hate when people nag at me. People,nagging at me won't change me. In fact, I'll be worse. Say you tell me to clean my room, I'll not clean it although you nag until you lose your voice. I'll clean my room when I want to, not because you tell me to. I don't need people telling me what to do! I'm 22 for god sake! I know, I sound immature and childish. But it's my life and I have every god damn right to do whatever I want with it. So just back off and stop nagging! Jeez, don't you have better thing to do???

Incompetence of UM staffs.

I don't care whether people read my blog or not.
I do it just for fun.
I consider this blog as a space where I can crap whatever I want. =p
Well, this semester's break is going to be over soon.
I can't believe that it has been what, a month and a half at home?
I'm enjoying myself very much that the time went by really damn fast!
Adoyaiiiii...
New semester, new lecturers, new assignments, new headaches!
Yeah, I messed up when I registered new subjects for the new semester.
I applied for extra credit hours. Everything was fine until I realized that I put 19 credit hours instead of 20 credit hours for the total credit hours that I wish to take!
I called the faculty about it and was asked to call another department.
I think I called at least 5 different departments before I got the right numbers for the right department who handles case like mine.
I called them and guess what, they disconnected me. Not just once but thrice!
What the f*** were they doing??
I doubt that they have far more important things to do.
Thanks for nothing, lazy and useless UM staffs! urghh!
I want to call them this Monday. I just hope that they would not disconnect me from the call again.
If they do, they are going to face the wrath of Nurulaini binti Taib!

Do you have ambitions? I have. Lots of them. lol.

When I was in primary school, I wanted to be a surgeon. I couldn't think about any other occupation. Being a surgeon was the only thing that I wanted at that time.

Then, I had an epiphany when I was in form 3 if I was not mistaken. I did not like Science subject since I was in form 1.

So i asked myself, how could I become a surgeon if I was not into Science? I told myself, I had to rethink about my ambition.

I needed a realistic ambition, a job that I would love spending my time to and most importantly, I had the capability of being great doing it. I knew one thing for sure during that soul searching.

I love English. So what could I do that is related to English? Then I came to think about Miss Aida(my former English teacher when I was in MRSM Jeli).

At that time, I knew that I wanted to become an English teacher like Miss Aida! She really inspires me until today. Therefore, I set my goal which is to become an English teacher. =)

So, here I am, in a journey to become a great teacher who just not teaches, but inspires.

I wish myself good luck in this journey filled with bittersweet memories and life changing experiences! =)

THE BEGINNING OR THE END?

Hi my fellow friends!
I know i'm the worst blogger ever.
i rarely update my blog cuz A.i'm lazy & B.i dont really like blogging.lol
whatever it is, here i am now.
okay. well, i have finished my second year in UM. yeay!!!i'll be a third year
student this july. wow...i never knew that time fly by very fast.
2 more sems, and i'll be doing my teaching practise.
i dont know y am i so afraid of it. it's like a ghost or curse that haunts me.
hurmm.. enough talking like a physco.
i'm at home currently. duh, sem's break.
so my mom urged me to become a teacher at a tuition centre.
i wanted to decline her offer but since she bought me my new nokia xpress music 5800,
i hv to follow whatever she said cuz i hv to pay her money back.
so, i went to the place and the owner of the place which i forgot his name(he's a very nice n humble indian man), interviewed me.
i prayed that he would reject me but he gave me a trial instead!
things just keep getting better and better! (this is me, being sarcastic)
now, i hv to teach either form 2 or form 3 students this thursday.
THIS IS JUST INSANE!
I dont hv my reference books with me cuz they r all in KL.
i also dont hv a single English dictionary with me!
what kind of an english teacher who does not have an English dictionary when she's supposed to teach in front of the students???
to make things worse than it already is, the owner also teaches english n his english is u know, fluent! he's going to watch me teaching the students n evaluate me whether i'm fit to teach at his place or not!
if he says no, this would be a slap to my face.
if i couldnt handle to teach at a tuition centre, how can i teach at school later??
what if i stumble or struggle with my words cuz when i get nervous,it ain't pretty.
i'll be all over the place!

A New Beginning!

Hi. Greetings earthlings. =p

Time flies by very quick.

It feels like I'm just starting my life as a Tesl junior in UM.

The truth is, I'm already in the second semester of my second year. Well, i'm not really already in the second semester, still have a few days of holiday before going back to that place.

However, my point is that I'm lucky to be able to pursue my dreams although i may be a little bit late than my friends from MRSM. Some of my old friends from MRSM are already in their practical now. They are going to earn real money soon.

I envy them because of that part. People say that money isn't everything.

Well, i beg to differ because money is EVERYTHING now.

It's irrelevant to say that money is not the most important thing in someone's life.

We need money in almost anything. For instance, if we want to use public toilets, we have to pay around 50cents. Even just to take a dump we need to pay some money.

In this era of globalisation, money plays a vital part in human's life.

I'm not being materialistic or anything. I'm just being real. Don't u agree with me?

That's why i can't wait to finish my degree with first class and starts earning money to support my family.

My parents are old. This is their time to just relax and enjoy their lives to the fullest.

So God please help me by giving me strength, patience and wisdom to face any obstacles that may come in the way.

Aloha!!!!

It has been quite a while since i update my blog.
Lack of time, tons of assignments and projects, emotionally imbalance.
That are just a few factors....
Ok, what should i start with???
Hurm, as we all know (maybe some of u didnt know, but it's ok cuz i'm telling u now)
my father fell from the rooftop of our home and broke his backbone.
Good news is, the impact from the falling did not injured important nerves on his back.
He underwent a surgery where the doctor attach my father's backbone with several screws and a couple of metal rods. Oh yeah, they also attached it with artificial bone in order to stimulate the growth of the original bone.
He is recovering now. Alhamdulillah.
He can even walk slowly now, which is a relief for me.
What else...
Yeah, Hari Raya. it was not fun like it used to be.
However, it was not that bored either.
I think it was in the middle.
Hope it's not to late to wish u guys SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI!!!!
Finished with that, what is the other thing i can talk about?
....
Assignments. I'm trying my best to juggle with my assignments and college's stuff.
As a result of endless works, i am a bit cuckkoo... haha
massive headache.checked! sleep deprive.checked!

i think that is all. U see, my life is just normal. nothing big, nothing really fun. just so so. but still, i'm grateful for being alive. =)

I just hope nothing happen to Jacob Black.
I really really like him, his character. haha
I like him more than edward cullen.
He's absolutely better.
Glad he ends up with Nessie, Bella's unique half vampire half human daughter.haha.
It was very funny when Bella knew that Jacob Black imprinted with her daughter because nessie was only a new-born baby. lol

Tomorrow is the 'kenduri' day. I've been helping her preparing for the ceremony and now my face is a regular at her house. haha. All of the sweat and tiredness are worth it. She's happy,i'm happy, everyone is happy. =)

20 May 1955...

It was the day when my mother was born to see the world...

I'm so grateful having her as my mom...

And..today is her birthday.

So we celebrated it together...

Me,Kak Nana,Ami,Nida,Ima,Abg, and adik. Dila and kak nor also celebrated it together, spiritually. haha. MY father was no where to be seen.

So, we decided to start without him.

Furthermore, he isnt really a fan for this kind of activity.

It was very nice. Hope my mother liked it.

Well, Ami supported mom's bday celebration financially. He kept his salary for a few days I think cuz he got his salary daily.

Well, his money was for the mee and the cake + bicarbonate drinks and ice.

Me? I'm totally and utterly broke. Same as kak nana.haha

SO, we contributed human labour. Kak NAna and me cooked the mee...I fried the keropok...

I ate a lot. Same did Abg. hahaha.

a young killer?

i woke up at 10.45 this morning. i promised kak nana to help her with the song for the dance performance(my sister is a teacher at a kindergarten).She said she would come around 11am. So, i forced myself to get up.Just when i was about to open my room's door, i heard her voice. "Kakak!Mane Cik Ngoh?" ( she called me Cik Ngoh and 'kakak' is my niece).Then, kakak answered, "Cik Ngoh dok bangun lagi" (in terengganu dialect which means i'm not awake yet). I knew that kak nana will be furious. So i jumped from my bed, rushed to the bathroom and showered asap.

Then, when i got out from the bathroom, i heard she said, "Ingat kang bangun doh" which means she thought that i was already awake.I said that my alarm didnt functioning and i wasnt lying about that. =)

So, after getting dressed, we went out together and headed to Tabika Perpaduan Bukit Chatak 1.I helped her and the other teacher to cut and joined parts of the songs that they wanted.(by using my laptop of course)

Then, time went away. It was time for the children to go back. While the other teacher busy looking outside the door for parents who have already arrived, i heard one of the boys said, "Esok saye nok bowok pedang saye nok tikang cikgu" which means i'm going to bring my sword tomorrow and stabs the teacher.

Kak Nana and i was so damn shocked when we heard that. Kak Nana covered the shockness with a laugh, saying that kids are always like that.

Na'ah.Not for me.I think that the boy has a serious problem, mentally. Can u imagine, how can he said things like that??'I want to stab my teacher with a sword'???You have got to be kidding me. He's sick, very sick.

We told the teacher about what had happened and she said that boy is out of control.He's not afraid of anyone, including her. He is extremely naughty and stubborn too.

WHen the teacher told his grandmother about his behaviour, she didnt believe her. For her, her grandson is very sweet and nice. She said many good things about his grandson.Well grandma, apparently he's not what he seems to be!

That is the problem nowadays. Trust is a good thing. However, when u over-trust, things will go wrong. She should have faith on the teacher. What, she thinks that the teacher is lying to her?why in the hell she wants to do that???
I just dont get it with this kind of people.

I'm just feeling sorry for the boy. I hope he will grow up and become a good man,who will contribute to the society.Not a killer who stabs his own teacher!

Wow. what a great feeling.i forgot how it feels to stay at home since i havent been here for quite a long time. I usually or must go home every month but this semester was a chaos. Honestly, i didnt found the time to go home. every single weekend was packed with activites, mostly because of nasyid practises.

It's raining now.Along with thunders and lightnings. So i shouldnt use the internet now. Heck, i shouldnt even used my laptop.however, i need to write something since i havent been blogging for quite a time.

i just want to tell u that i arrived safely at home. My room is a mess. I dont have the mood yet to clean it up. Haha.

Is it over?

Alhamdulillah..the interview is over! gosh, i never felt this relieved! lol. well, the interview session went well. I was able to answer all of the questions and interacted with all of the people in the room.

Right now, i'm nervous about the result of the interview.Am i going to get the scholarship or not? Only God knows. But, i did my very best.If luck on my side, i'll get it. If not, i will just try harder next time. =)

I asked one of the panels about my chances to get the scholarship. She said the four of us (the interview was held in groups) have the chance. Hurm..Typical answer. However, i dont have high hope about it because kpm only want 1200 students to get the scholarships.So basically, i'm competing with other students not just in UM but around Malaysia to get the scholarships.

I'm just leaving it all to God now. Tawakkal is the best thing to do, right?

I think i'm going to stop here because i want to continue playing virtual families.It is very exciting. U should totally play the game. haha

this is it. the interview that i am waiting for.tommorrow, 9am i'm going to be interviewed by the panels from education ministry i think.

do u want to know my feelings about the upcoming interview right at this very moment? I admit, i am nervous.In fact, i'm extremely nervous. What if i stumble with my words tomorrow during the interview? what if i suddenly get blank when he or she asks me the question? what if i dont know the answers? what if i speak with a lot of grammar errors? there are too much 'what if'.
i should stop being negative.

believe me nurulaini binti taib, it's not going to be bad at all.in fact, it will be very good and u will enjoy the interview session.(this is me talking to myself like a lunatic person)

dont worry much. u will do just fine. just remember that u can do it. just have fun during the interview.

Allah, please give your blessings to me for the interview tomorrow.i just hope i will pass the interview and get the scholarship.i dont want to burden my parent especially my mother anymore. I want to be independant. pray for me guys!!!

hv u ever wonder why my blog's url is shinyainee.blogspot.com? haha.

actually, i came up with that name in a rush.meaning, i was not thinking thoroughly about it. now i just realized how 'cheesy' my blog's name is. haha.

but, i kind a like it.u know.'shiny ainee' besides they rhyme very well together, it also means i'm going to shine. like the sun, covering the whole world. i'm trying to be the 'sun',to help my family and contribute to my society.(cheesy,again.haha =p)

If i was given the chance to change my blog's name, i rather not change it because it's just great the way it is. it reflects me. =)

thanks for reading this post. it's not about global warming, politics, hunger or war. I read that so often in newspapers,blogs. It will kill me just to write about that issues. it's not that i dont care about the issues. i do care.in fact i care about it so much until i cant seem to write about it. it's just heartbreaking to know that such things still happened in this so called 'civilized' world.

seducing?

Yesterday, while waiting for my cloth being washed, i talked with Kirah(my roomate).Then, came this guy. I noticed that his eyes were watching over Kirah for so many times. lol I knew that he would try to talk to kirah.

And i was right. He came and sat with us. Without introducing himsef, he asked for kirah's name. kirah looked at me and i did the same thing to her. In my heart, i was trying to control my laugh before it burst out. So i smiled in order to control myself.

He insisted to know kirah's name.Tired of that, i told him that her name is Hasnah. haha. Kirah laughed hard when she heard that name. I also laugh my a** off. He didnt believe me. He asked my name and i told him that my name is aminah. Our "names" are very classic indeed.I laughed again. He was very uncomfortable.Maybe because i laughed very loud. haha. served him right.

Then, several minutes passed by without any of us talking. Then, he started to tell us about himself.'I seriously dont want to know your story, i just want my washed cloth,and that's all'. if i can tell him like that. haha. kirah kept pulling my shirt from under the table. the sign of boredom. we just hope that he will walk away.

In a sudden, kirah said to him, " U said u came here to do your assignment, right? so what are u still doing here? go and do your assignment before it's getting late."

I covered my face with my hand. I was shaking because i couldnt control my laugh anymore. I was not ready for that. he blushed and said " mcm nk halau jer".

i automatically laughed when he said that, loud and clear. Kirah just smiled sarcastically.She said, "eh,xdela.x ckp pn"

the truth is, we cant wait to get rid of that poor guy. lol At last, he walked away, saying that he had to finish his assignment.

Right after he went away, i lauhed together with kirah. It was extremely funny. I tried to capture his picture, but didnt has the chance because he would know i took his picture.

but, he seemed to be a nice guy though. he is just at the wrong place,at the wrong time, with the wrong person. haha.

pathetic?

it's 4.34am n i havent sleep yet. lol. actually, i was just finished watching Wild Hogs.It was fun.and extremely funny too. in case u havent watch it yet, u should totally watch it.

After this I'm thinking about watching Legally Blondes.A new film directed by reese witherspoon i think.

These past few days, i've been wasting my times by watching movies. I dont care because i've already finished my examinations. if there is no interview for the scholarship, i wouldnt be here. i rather spend my time at home, playing with my cats u know. haha.

the best part is, i'm alone. where are my 2 roomates?i'm starting to wonder.hurm, Lezza is most probably with her bf now.Maybe just chatting at dewan makan since she's going back today. she's supposed to stay back a little bit longer but her mom insisted for her to go home now since her mother couldnt come to fetch her any other day.

Well, kirah must be sleeping in Sha's room. She always fall asleep there. haha.

And...I'm here..In front of my desktop, posting on my blog.it's kind a pathetic, dont u think? lol. well, i dont care. as long as i'm happy. =)

should I?

In life, i face a lot of questions...why?how?when?where?what?...my life is full with that kind of questions...Trust me, not all of them have the answers i need.i'm sure anyone who's known as a human being faces the same thing like me.

how do i find the answers to the questions?honestly,I dont know how.somehow, i just know it.However, it's not as easy as u think.

in my case, if i dont know the answers to a particular question, i just keep it to myself until i find the answer i need.But that doesnt mean i dont try to search the answer. i just wait and wait and wait until the answer find me.I'm not sure if u guys understand what am talking about. lol

basically, this post is about questions and answers. Somehow for me, u dont have to have all the answers in the world. Sometime, your life is better off without the answers. In my point of view, what's the point of knowing it when u know that u will be hurt badly because of it?

(sigh...) but..this depends..if u are not ready to know the answers, just chill and relax. it's not the end of the world. when u are ready mentally, u can have all the answers u want.
